素材：調理する、食する、鑑賞する、感じる、触れる、匂う
私は食材をマテリアルとして、彫刻家が粘土を使うのと同じような感覚で制作してます。
作家として食材とデザインを融合させて人々がアートとデザインの要素と境界線の重要性について疑問を問いかけるような体験をコンセプチュアルな作品に結びつけています。
スペースや空間を察知し細部に注意を払いながらも強いコンセプトを一番に重要視しています。
国、季節、またはレシピによっては、関連性がありかつ簡素な食材を素材として選択しています。
空間により色調、形状やスケールも変わってくるため空間ごと反応し審美的に素材を選んでいます。
今回、日本のコンセプチュアルアートの思想に挑戦する機会としてデザイナーとしてではなくアーティストとしてこの空間で制作をしたいと思っていました。
私の母国とは全く違う文化を持つ国、日本で経験した事をもとに日本がもつ儀式的なことを引き立てることを２つの最も日本で共有されている素材を使う事により、どれだけ毎日の生活の中で必須とされているかということの表現とそれにより素材の見方に関心を持つ機会になって欲しいと願っています。

Ingredients: to cook, to eat, to see, to feel, to touch, to smell.
I use food as a material, in the same way a sculptor uses clay. As an artist, I work conceptually to combine food and design to create experiences that make people question the importance of an ingredient and the boundaries between art and design. I work with a strong appreciation for awareness of space and attention to detail whilst keeping a strong concept at the forefront. Depending on the country, season or recipe, I choose food that is relevant and simple in structure. Aesthetically, I decide the ingredient in response to the space as this affects the choice of colour, shape and scale.
I wanted the opportunity to work with this space as an artist instead of a designer and to challenge the idea of conceptual art in Japan. Being in a county with such a different cultural background to my own, I wanted to enhance the rituals I have personally learnt through an experience. By using the two most common ingredients of Japan, I am able to express how important they are in daily life and make those unaware more conscious of this. Rice and soy sauce are more than just food: they are a way of life.
