「実と花 時と間 葉と月」
BLOCK HOUSEでは今回、絵描き松岡亮の個展を開催いたします。松岡はBLOCK HOUSEにとって最も関わりの深いアーティストであり、そして東京という街にとっても、非常に重要なアーティストの一人です。松岡の描く絵のサイズ、量、そして画面の持つ力は圧倒的であり、他と比べようのない表現力を感じさせます。「人はなぜ絵を描くか？」という普遍的な問いに対し、松岡は直球で挑み続けているのです。近年では音楽ユニット「SUPER FLY」とのコラボレーションや過去は「Yohji Yamamoto」とのコラボレーション等が注目を集め、また「明星」や「Jarvis Earnshaw」とは継続的にコラボレーションし続けています。情報として松岡を知る人は数少なくありませんが、今回の機会、是非とも展覧会場に来て、松岡の絵と向き合っていただければ幸いです。

作家プロフィール
絵を描く。刺繍や布のコラージュ作品なども発表。何時からだったか子供の頃から描き続ける。それが生活や旅に繋がり、人に繋がり瞬間や場所に繋がり、描き続ける事に繋がる。繋がる中で絵やインスタレーション、壁画、刺繍の制作など、solo exhibitionやlive paintなど国内外を問わず活動を続ける。「彼は街の中の感覚や感情を見えるようにする人だ」（L’ECLAIREUR paris）

Ryo Matsuoka Solo Show
“Seed and Flower, Time and Space, leaf and Moon”
BLOCK HOUSE ispleased to announce the solo show by Ryo Matsuoka. Matsuoka is the most involved artist for BLOCK HOUSE, and also one of the most important artists in the city of TOKYO. Nothing can conpare to his paintings and overwhelming by it’s size, amount, and power of expression. He is directly challenging to universal question “why people paint?”. In recent years, he received extensive attention by collaborating with music band “SUPER FLY” and also by past collaboration with “Yohji Yamamoto”, “Akeboshi”, and “Jarvis Earnshaw”. There might be not a few number of people know about him. However, we wish people come to see the exhibition and experience Matsuoka’s painting directly.

ARTIST’S PROFILE
I draw, I paint I work with other art forms, such as embroidery and collage of the cloth. I have been drawing and painting since before I can remember. The act of drawing opened me up for life and unknown places, connected me with new people, and gave me different windows of time and place, further inspiring me to draw. In this ever-extending network of life, people, time, and place, I keep myself busy in and out of Japan by creating paintings, installations, murals, and embroideries, presenting my visions in solo shows or Live Paint events.
